October PV Dems Meeting Announcements and More

The Palos Verdes Democrats October 16 meeting began with announcements and a preview of the November meeting.

After Connie Sullivan, PV Dems President, opened the meeting, Carol Moeller recognized Connie Sullivan as one of two Democrats to be honored with the Pat Eastman Volunteer of the Year award at the LACDP Franklin & Eleanor Roosevelt Awards 2022 dinner the previous night.  This dinner is an annual LACDP event to recognize “our democrats of the year.”  Carol espoused our club’s appreciation for Connie and said, “there is a reason she is being honored; tomorrow she is going to be phone banking, Saturday she is going to be walking precincts for Jay Chen, and during the week she is going to be hanging door hangers [in RPV], in addition to all the other duties that she does.”

02:14  Connie relayed the news about the LACDP’s announcement about the scandal with LA City Council President Nury Martinez’s racist remarks.  The LACDP urged the resignation of Martinez, Cedillo and DeLeon.  See Jon Munoz’s LACDP article on the news.
