LACDP New Citizens Voter Registration

The LA County Democratic Party is inviting Democrats to join the Voter Registration Drive at the New Citizens Swearing-in Ceremonies held at the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center. This month’s Ceremony will be on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Set-up begins at the LACDP Booth at 7:30 a.m. This includes setting up pop-up tents, President Barack Obama and First Lady Obama for great photos for our fellow New Citizens. We would greatly appreciate the Club Volunteer support with set-up.

Once we are set-up, we have a few quick tutorials on how to register the New Citizens as they come out. The Los Angeles County Voter Registration card is brand new and it’s great to get a refresher.

The New Citizens begin to come out ready to be registered around 9:30 a.m. at the earliest and it is a full hour of voter registrations action.

Once the morning session of New Citizens ends, we break for lunch from then until 1:00 p.m.

The afternoon session begins at 1:00 p.m. with Voter Registration training and refreshers. And the New Citizens begin to come out at approximately 2:00 p.m. ready to be registered to vote.

The goal of our LACDP Voter Registration Booth is to register as many new Democrats as possible. It is an opportunity to welcome them into the Party as well. The New Citizens Swearing-in Ceremonies are a joyous time, a bit similar to college graduation, that is worthwhile to share in.

We would love to have you and your members, please feel free to bring literature to share with potential new members as well.
