Conservative U.S. District Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk, a nominee of President Donald Trump with long-held antiabortion views, has issued a preliminary ruling invalidating the FDA’s 23-year-old approval of the abortion pill, mifepristone, and unprecedented order that could make it harder for patients to get abortions in states where abortions are legal.
On Saturday, April 15, over 30 local activists jointed the Women’s March Foundation for a March for Reproductive Rights in Malaga Cove Plaza and represented the Los Angeles South Bay in voicing our outrage.
Others marched in Downtown LA where Vice President Kamala Harris made a surprise appearance after being introduced by Mayor Karen Bass. Harris urged the demonstrators to “stand up and fight” for your ideals, and said “When you attack the rights of women in America, you are attacking America.”
