Pennyroyal Players ‘From Battles to Ballots’ Performance- Oct 9th, 3pm, at Warner Grand Annex in San Pedro

The Pennyroyal Players is a group of philanthropic professional and semi-professional musicians including eleven women and five men who do it all; in total, they play eight different instruments, plus they sing, they dance and they act!  Since PV Democrats’ member Anne Destabelle started the group in 2003, the Pennyroyal Players have performed over 2000 events of nine different performances throughout Southern California.  All proceeds are donated to charity, with cash donations to date totaling nearly $190,000!  They have received both the Excellence in Arts in Music Award from the City of Torrance as well as the Community Service Award from the Palos Verdes Peninsula Coordinating Council.

On Sunday, October 9 at 3pm at the Warner Grand Annex in San Pedro, they will be offering “From Battles to Ballots – A Century of Struggle for Woman Suffrage”.  This performance covers over 300 years of history and includes the sometimes funny, always poignant stories of 27 women who fought so that women today could have the right to vote.  What a great way to enjoy and learn and give!
