SAVE THE DATE, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2022, AS CONNIE SULLIVAN WILL BE HONORED AT THE LACDP FRANKLIN & ELEANOR ROOSEVELT AWARDS!
Not only will we be honoring our 66th Assembly District (AD) Democrats of the Year, Margie Hoyt and Wade Kyle, but our own Connie Sullivan, President of Palos Verdes Democrats, will be receiving one of the two prestigious 2022 Pat Eastman Volunteer of the Year Awards that same evening! The Pat Eastman awards are given every year at the Roosevelt Dinner on behalf of the entire Los Angeles County Democratic Party to recognize volunteers who have offered extraordinary service to the party, and Connie, despite her protests of “I am not worthy,” definitely falls into that category! I have been active in the LACDP since 1992, primarily with Beach Cities Democrats in what was then our 53rd AD. Though I knew of Connie, I really didn’t meet her until 2012 when the Palos Verdes Peninsula was included in the 66th AD due to redistricting. What a fortuitous meeting that was for me, as Connie soon became my “guru” for all things relating to the Democratic Party and as an example of service to the party. Whether chairing committees or walking precincts and calling and texting to GetOutTheVote or hosting or sponsoring fundraisers, Connie is consistently and tirelessly there for us and the party! Tickets for the Roosevelt Dinner are available at www.lacdp.org/roosevelt2022 and they will sell out quickly, so please consider purchasing yours and joining all your fellow Los Angeles County Democrats in honoring our 66th AD Democrats of the Year, and especially this year in honoring our own Connie Sullivan as a Pat Eastman Volunteer of the Year!
