News From LACDP

By Connie Sullivan —

Not much to report this month.  The Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP) was dark in August, but we did hold an Assembly District 66 meeting where we elected Democrats of the Year.  These folks will be honored at our November Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt dinner.

One of the selected honorees is a member of this club and a resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, Paul Seo.  Paul was first elected to LACDP in 2020 and was immediately recognized as a rising star.  He was appointed co-chair of the Credentials Committee and a member of the all-important Rules Committee.  Paul attended West Point for his undergraduate degree and after law school at Loyola became a Deputy District Attorney.  He also serves as a board member on the Korean American Democratic Committee.  In RPV he’s a member of the Civic Center Advisory Committee.  Congratulations, Paul!

The other honoree is from neighboring Harbor City, Cathy Familathe.  In addition to being an alternate to the LACDP she serves on the CDP Resolutions Committee (it’s a great honor for the Chair of CDP, Rusty Hicks, to make an appointment to this particular committee) and is a past president of ILWU (International Longshore and Warehouse Union).  She is also a longtime president of Mothers of Murdered Children.

PV Dems congratulates both these worthy honorees.
