Theme – Surviving COVID-19 and the November Election

As we work to survive the coronavirus pandemic, we are also trying to keep our focus on defeating Trump in the November election.  Today’s meeting gives us some updates on how we are doing.

Congressman Ted Lieu, representing the 33rd District of CA, keeps us informed about COVID-19 updates and provides helpful resources on his website and in his emails “THE LIEU REVIEW.”   On Friday, May 15th, the House of Representatives passed the HEROES Act, which Congressman Lieu believes will help us address the challenges brought on by COVID-19.  The Act still needs to be passed by the Senate.

Councilmembers Kenny Kao from Palos Verdes Estates and Eric Alegria from Rancho Palos Verdes let us know how their cities are surviving the economic and health impacts of the COVID-19.  They both had several questions for Congressman Lieu.
