2017 Annual Installation of Officers Party (Registration is closed)

July 16, 2017 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Thanks to all that have registered to attend this event.  We have reached the maximum number of people that we can handle at this venue, and we have closed the registration.

Alert!  We’ve been bitten by the unpredictability of schedules, and we’ve been informed that Congresswoman Barragán will not be travelling back to the district as planned, and will not be able to appear at our event.  Also, John Chiang has a conflict and will not appear.

Our July monthly meeting will also be our Annual Installation of Officers Party.  We will meet at St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, 26825 Rolling Hills Road, Rolling Hills Estates.  Lisa’s catering will provide an All American hotdog, hamburger, potato salad, BBQ beans and watermelon feast. Our members will provide potluck desserts and drinks. Members are welcome to bring friends! Please RSVP so that we know how many to expect.

In addition to the speeches and ceremonies, we will be entertained by the Pennyroyal Players, who will take us on a musical romp through the Revolutionary War – in about 25 minutes! From the opening firing shot, to the Boston Massacre, to the signing of the Declaration of Independence to the glorious victory over the British and finally the signing of the treaty of peace. The Pennyroyal Players sing their way with humor and sadness, with original songs, stories and letters from the long battle for American Independence.

Elected Officials

As usual, we will have many of our elected officials.  With all the activities in Sacramento and Washington, it is sometimes difficult to plan calendars, but so far, we have confirmations from Ted Lieu, our local Congressman, Al Muratsuchi, our state assemblyman, and Janice Hahn, LA County Supervisor for District 4.

We also want you to meet democratic challengers to local Republican congressman.  Come hear from Harley Rouda (48th CD), who would like to help us forget who Dana Rohrabacher is.   Katie Hill and Jess Phoenix, who are running to unseat Steve Knight in the 25th congressional district (Simi Valley, Lancaster, Santa Clarita, Palmdale) have agreed to come.

Also, come meet Harold Williams-President West Basin Water District Board of Directors, Kay Cooperman Jue-President Palos Verdes Library District Board of Trustees, and Ben Kelly-candidate for Rancho Palos Verdes City Council.
