PV Democrats October 20, 2024 Meeting

Join us for our hybrid (Zoom and In-Person) October club meeting.  Our meeting starts at 2:30 pm, but join us at 2 pm to chat with other Democrats.  Even though our main speak will be joining us remotely, we will also meet in the Peninsula Library Community Room.  Our PVPUSD School Board candidates will be joining us in-person.

Fearless journalist and author Brian Karem, a columnist for Salon magazine, will be our guest via Zoom for the October 20 monthly meeting. Brian Karem is the former senior White House correspondent for Playboy. He has covered every presidential administration since Ronald Reagan, sued Donald Trump three times successfully to keep his press pass, spent time in jail to protect a confidential source, covered wars in the Middle East and is the author of seven books. His latest is “Free the Press.” Karem will discuss “Behind the Bubble – What Really Goes on in Washington.” After an introductory conversation about the state of the presidential race, Karem will take questions from our group. You can find his latest columns at: https://www.salon.com/writer/brian-karem.

NOTE: No video cameras will be allowed during our school board candidate discussions..
Our live speakers for October 20 feature two Democrats running for PVPUSD School Board, Eric Alegria and Ami Gandhi.

As an incumbent school board member currently serving in my second year as School Board President, I bring experience and a proven track record of dedication to our children’s education. With support from teachers, parents, and community members, I champion common-sense policies that prioritize the well-being and academic success of our children above all else.

“Palos Verdes Peninsula schools are among the best in California, but I know they can be better. I believe I have the experience to help tackle the challenges our schools face. I would be honored to earn your vote.”
