PV Democrats October Meeting

October 17 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Join us for our virtual October club meeting. Our meeting starts at 2:30, but join us at 2 pm to chat with other Democrats.

The theme for this month’s meeting is Why is it so hard to accelerate California’s climate policy?

Featured Speakers:

Danny Cullenward is the Policy Director at CarbonPlan, a Research Fellow at American University’s Institute for Carbon Removal Law & Policy, and the author (with David G. Victor) of Making Climate Policy Work.  Dr. Cullenward also serves as Vice Chair of the Independent Emissions Market Advisory Committee, which advises the California Legislature and Air Resources Board on climate policy.

Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi, District 66, is the co-author of AB 1395, the California Climate Crisis Act.  In response to the CA Senate’s failure to pass the bill, Muratsuchi said, “Big Oil and their allies killed the California Climate Crisis Act on the Senate floor. While California burns with wildfires, suffers from droughts and extreme heat, and prepares for billions in coastal property damage from sea level rise, the Senate failed to pass this critical bill to establish a roadmap to reach carbon neutrality on or before 2045.”

  1. Since I did not watch yesterday, I hope to get back to this today so that I can catch up with what the CLUB is doing. So glad to see names of people I know.

  2. Perhaps also discussion on the National situation. If one more Democratic Senator had been elected, Manchin would not have such power. Elections matter
