Inaugural South Bay Member Group–California Common Cause
April 5, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Join California Common Cause Tuesday, April 5, for our inaugural South Bay Member Group meeting and a free screening of the documentary, DREAM ON.
DREAM ON puts a spotlight on the voices of average people – from fast-food workers to single mothers, from undocumented immigrants to community organizers, and from inmates to retirees. Their dreams, their hopes, and their struggles.
This poignant new documentary features political comedian John Fugelsang as he retraces the journey of Alexis de Tocqueville, whose study of our young country in 1831 came to define America as a place where anyone could climb the ladder of opportunity.
Produced and directed by Roger Weisberg, DREAM ON represents the culmination of nearly four decades of reporting on ways to remove barriers and expand opportunities for disadvantaged Americans. Weisberg’s 31 previous documentaries have won over 150 awards, including Emmy, DuPont-Columbia and Peabody awards, as well as two Academy Award nominations.
You can watch the trailer to the film at this link, https://vimeo.com/116867507.
