2019 Palos Verdes Democrats Annual Picnic with Rep. Ted Lieu

The PV Dems will be hosting our annual Summer Picnic once again at the St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church in Rolling Hills Estates.  We had almost 200 attendees last year, and hope to repeat that again this year.

Because of a last minute difficulty with the Marie Callender’s meal ordering option, the PV Democrats Board of Directors has decided to host the picnic by providing sandwiches, snacks, water, and soft drinks^*

^*that is, this extra cost will be borne by some of your Board members–your dues will continue to primarily support our advocacy efforts.

The picnic will start at 4 pm to avoid the summer heat, with speakers from 5 to 6:30 pm. A jazz quartet from Palos Verdes High School will provide musical entertainment until the speakers begin. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the park-like setting. Don’t forget a hat and sunscreen!

As he has done in our previous events, Congressman Ted Lieu will be on hand to install the new Palos Verdes Democrats Board of Directors.

We will have many of our local elected officials speak to the group.  In addition, in light of the flurry of laws sweeping the nation designed to limit a woman’s right to choose, we have invited Xenia Vidal Marquez, Planned Parenthood Advocacy Project Los Angeles County Action Fund to talk about what we can do to prevail against that trend.
