PVP Democrats Monthly Meeting

On September 17, 2017 the Palos Verdes Democrats will meet at 2:30 pm in the community room of the Peninsula Center Library.

Please join us.  We encourage you to come at 2:00 pm for our social time where we enjoy delicious homemade goodies and conversation with like-minded Democrats.

Our September meeting will feature a discussion of money in politics as we gear up for the 2018 election cycle. We will be joined by Professor Peter Mathews.

Professor Mathews is the author of Dollar Democracy: With Liberty and Justice for Some.  Dollar Democracy is about the corrupting influence of private money in politics that has caused a disappearing middle class, environmental destruction, the dismantling of the public education system, the endangering of our food and water supply, a lack of health care, and waste, fraud and abuse in the Military Industrial Complex.

Peter Mathews is a full-time Professor of Political Science at Cypress College, an adjunct Professor of Sociology at Long Beach City College.  He is a three term Chair of Department of Political Science at Cypress College and teaches American Government and International Relations, Contemporary Political Issues, Comparative Government, Political Theory, and Urban Politics.

Professor Matthews has been a featured Political Analyst and Commentator on several television and radio programs. He is currently a featured Political Analyst and Contributing Partner on the “Head-On” radio show on KEIB AM 1150 in Los Angeles.
